New Contact not working

In window Mail (Vista) Contacts when I click New Contact, an image appears
on the left hand side of the screen for a nano-second and then vanishes- so
I can't add any new contacts! Any ideas?

You may need to do this: Start Windows Mail. Click on Tools, then Windows
Contacts, then right click in the empty space below the right end of the
toolbar
of the new window, then click on Customize This Folder, then the triangle,
then
Contacts, then Apply, then OK. Now see if clicking on New Contact works.

If that doesn't work, what if any antivirus programs do you have?
