new computer cannot work outlook

I have just bought a new laptop with Windows xp, microsoft office 2003 and
when I try and log into outlook, I get an error message which says Outlook
has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. I have the option of
sending an error report to microsoft.

Do you have any suggestions??

Yes. Either uninstall Outlook and reinstall or run a Detect and Repair from
Help. If that doesn't work, create a new mail profile with Control
Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>Add. As a last resort, wipe your disk clean and
reinstall only what you need.
