new cable connecion question

You can use any firewall. I believe that Zone Alarm is a
better bet than XP's. It monitors both inbound and
outbound traffic while XP's only monitors inbound. I use
Zone Alarm's free version. But please be aware that
there's a problem with both recent releases of Zone Alarm
version 5.xxx.

Check the Zone Alarm usergroup at:
http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs before downloading it.

For the time being, get version 4.5.594. It works fine.
Periodically check their site and wait until version 5
is "deloused". Then wait another week or two before
installing it, just to make sure it's O.K.

Hope this helps,
Milt

THanks to all who responded- and for the new version having some needed
fixes in ZA- Yes I have not updated the new version because I read in the
forum in ZA that it is much need of fixes- And sorry to Miss P. about the
stationary background when I posted the question. I guess I did not remove
it from my OE and did not even think it can be harmful in any way or
prohibited. THanks to all
