Hello group

I built this computer 5 days ago, and I am a little worried about the
temps, I have been to several sites and the word is Core2 Duo are
running normal with a idle temp of 46C. Do you agree with that thought
in here. (Hard to gather figures for non overclocked systems.

These stats are at idle on a standard setup.

Room Temp Here in (AUS) 28 °C
Temperatures
Motherboard 44 °C (111 °F)
CPU 43 °C (109 °F) (Stock HS & F)
CPU #1 / Core #1 52 °C (126 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #2 50 °C (122 °F)
GPU 63 °C (145 °F) (Passive Cooling)
SAMSUNG HD161HJ 28 °C (82 °F)
SAMSUNG HD161HJ 28 °C (82 °F)

Cooling Fans
CPU 1923 RPM
System Fan #2 1538 RPM (12cm intake)
System Fan #1 1548 RPM (12cm exhaust)

Intel Core2 Duo E6850 @ 3.00GHz | 9x333 MHz | L2: 4096K
RAM 2048 MB DDR2-SDRAM @ 800MHz (4-4-4-12) | Corsair
MB: GIGABYTE | P35-DS3P | INTEL P35/G33/G31

It's 3:25am here so I will read any replied in a couple of hours.
Cheers
Keith.

How are the temperatures measured? I have the same CPU as you, and my
motherboard (Asus Maximus Formula, with Bios 0907) CLAIMS that the CPU
temperature is 23 deg.C, in a room where the ambient temperature is 24 deg
C. Motherboard reports 43; NB 49 and SB 48.5. Guess what, I don't believe
the CPU temperature. Someone on one of the Asus internet forums suggested
that you need to add 15 deg. C to the reported value to get close to the
actual value. Sounds reasonable. I don't know what the situation is with
your motherboard (and Bios - because different Bioses can report different
temperatures with the same hardware). You may need to seek further
information relating to Gigabyte Mobos and bios revisions.

Probably the best solution, if you are bothered - is to buy your own
temperature probes and calibrate them yourself.
