Hi guys,

I put together my system and It wont post. I went through the
troubleshooting <ie: one stick of ram, swap ram, tried different video
cards,.. etc>. The fans spin HD powers up, but the monitor is blank. Not
sure what the problem could be. Bad Mobo?

Its not touching the case at all. I will try set it up outside the case to
see what happens.

Questions:

-What is your power supply's rating (e.g., 350, 500)?

-Besides the ATX connector, how many more plugs go from the PSU to th
board and are they all plugged in?

-Are you using IDE or SATA? If IDE, ensure the hard drive is set t
either master or cable select, and is plugged in to the end of th
IDE cable.

-Is the monitor/cable digital or analog? Could it be a setting
mismatch between the monitor and the default output of the video car
(just guessing; should be automatic)?

Other things to check

Ensure the heatsink is properly installed and not touching the edge o
the socket

Ensure the CPU cooling fan is properly plugged in to the board

Ensure all power connections from the power supply to the board ar
properly connected

Try swapping out your mouse and keyboard. (I was stumped for thre
days this month trying to figure out why my new system would no
power up, and it was what HAD been a perfectly good PS2 mouse.

Hi
I had his trouble with an Athlon64 3200+
The prolem was that AMD keep changing the stepping of the core. This means
that a lot of motherboards need a bios update before they will work
correctly with some of the "venice" chips.
I tried three M/b's before I finally got a boot and also several
combinations of memory stick.
Cheers
Paul

clear the cmos.
double check the vid card seating
what vid card is this? requires separate power connector?

Could be that you've installed an IDE cable incorrectly, bad drive etc..
Remove IDE cables and drives and boot up with just VGA installed.

I first thought the video card as well, but I'd also suggest to double check
all the power connectors on the mobo are satisfied (like a 12v additional
connector).
