After launching IE 6, if I select a link that launches a
new browser window, the new window is VERY small (3"L x
1"H) and I cannot figure out a way to change this.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Thanks.

Stewart,
Close all instances of Internet Explorer except for one.
Right-click on a link in the page and select: "Open in New Window"
Close the first browser window using the [ X ] (upper right corner)
Resize the second browser window manually by dragging the sides to the
desired size.
Note: Do NOT click the Maximize button, you *must* do it manually.
Hold down the Ctrl key and click the Close button (upper right)
Visit another web site, open a link in a new "window", it should now be the
desired size.
Note: some pop-up browser windows will alter this process if that is the
last one closed.
If that occurs again, you now can resolve this problem.

[Exception]
In some cases the "Remember last window size" info becomes corrupted in the
Registry.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Window_Placement"=

Right-click on "Window_Placement" and select: Delete
Note: Remember to Export the key before editing.

When all else fails, paste the below line into Start | Run
javascript:window.open(screen.availWidth,screen.availHeight)

Then make *sure* the above window is the last one closed.

Mike,

That did the trick...thanks for your reply. I am
curious, is this by design or is IE/XP having problems
with the graphics adapter or driver I am using? It would
seem to me that having the new window defauly to a larger
size would make a lot more sense.

Thanks again for your help.

Stewart,
You're welcome ..... glad to see you have things resolved.

"Windows" (including IE) remembers the last size used when closing.
So when a say .... web site creates a pop-up of a different size and that
one
is the last one closed .... well Windows uses that as the size to open to
next time.

Also in some cases the info becomes corrupt in the Registry. When it won't
remember the size, the user needs to delete the Registry entry.
