Fixing 50 entries is free. The problem is that the Freeware Publishing
Site doesn't mention that.

It should also be re-named to "The severely crippled Registry Fix
3.0".

Added to that saying "Free Registry Fix is the World’s only FREE
Registry Cleaning software on the market today" is incorrect.

Crippleware, absurd claims, Freeware Publishing should remove it
totally from their site.

Regards, John.

Did you report your findings to Freeware Publishing? If not how will
they know if you don't?

Did you look at the address of the person making the original post ?
If they don't read this newsgroup then I would be surprised if they
don't read the threads they initiate themselves.

It's nice to inform a site about an error on their part, but frankly
it's the mark of a good freeware site to take responsibility for
ensuring that the programs they offer are truly freeware.

I removed the Freeware Publishing Site from my personal list long ago
because after getting my system messed up by a screensaver they
recommended, it became apparent to me that they didn't review
submissions to their site adequately.

Hi, John.

That one was a bit over the top for me (I usually agree with much of
your opinions).

Do you not give people a chance to correct their errors? Especially if
they try to offer a lot of programs for the benefit of others (read: you
:) ). Humans do errors....

Vegard,
Sorry, but any site that continues to offer known spyware even after
I inform them of the fact is not a site that I want to recommend.

Allow me to revise the reply that I cancelled.

Vegard,
Here is one of the fine programs that they recommend:

http://www.3d-screensaver-downloads.com/free-fish-screensaver.php

Would *you* install that on *your* system? For that matter, would you
install *any* of the screensavers from that site?

Just curious. 80)>

It says Purchase, Purchase, Purchase; so I would not install something
from that site. It was more the principle of giving people (The Freeware
Publishing Site) the benefit of doubt before 'killing them off' :)

But Vegard, I did give them the benefit of the doubt. I kept waiting for
them to stop recommending garbage as well as legitimate freeware, but
nothing has changed. Besides, there are enough other really good sites
out there that I guess I can afford to be a choosy beggar. 80)>
