What these guys promise to do would make me very suspicious indeed.

Or is that an entry for a new category called boastware?

And you'd actually let some unknown application, or any application for
that matter, do all that without apparently advising you what changes are
proposed and allowing you to say yes or no? Any mention of how you reverse
any such changes if it all goes pear-shaped?
