does any know how to make my new hard drive show up under my computer? i used
disc wizzard to install and made two partitions so windows xp with sp2 would
reconize it. it shows up under device manager and disk management and shows
up under my computer under windows explorer but not my computer. any
suggestions ive been trying for days now.

Have you formatted the partitions? Have you let the BIOS autodetect this new
drive? Is this drive installed on its own as the main master C: drive or is
it a second slave drive? Is the jumper set correctly, master or slave? If
you are not sure what you are doing there is lots of information on the
internet explaining how to install a hard drive.

Have you formatted the partitions and made sure they are assigned drive
letters? Both tasks can be performed in the Disk management Console
(diskmgmt.msc).

You are saying that you can see the two partitions in WIndows Exporer, but
not in My Computer?

That's very strange. My Computer *is* Windows Explorer. It's just a
specially configured view of Windows Explorer.

What drive letters are these two partitions?

it is showing g and i is what is what i set it too. i calees support again and they are having me uninstall sp2 and do a recovery and reinstall sp2 and see if that works. ive tried letters way down in alhpha, but still dont show up in my computer.

ican see it everywhere else though. well see what happens. i might take it
back and get two small ones if it will work that way.
