We have a routerthat connects to 4 computers. Yesterday we repalced a ME
computer with a new XP. We also have another XP machine on the network. I
made a networking disk on that computer and used it to configure the new XP.
Problem is that the new machine can see the non XP computers but not the
older XP. None of the computers can see the new XP. I have a laptop which
has XP and it can see all computers but not the new XP computer. Any
suggestions. I have tried turning off all the firewalls but that doesn't
seem to work. All the computers have internet access.

Do you have other Windows ME computers still? Networking Windows 9x (95, 98,
ME) and Windows NT (NT, 2000, XP) computers can be tricky.

Also, check for misconfigured / overlooked firewalls and registry setting
restrictanonymous.

Please let us know if any of these suggestions are of any help. What you learn
