I have read thru most of these replies re networking and haven't found
a specific answer for why I can't log onto the office computer but can
logon at home.

I have a loptop which connects fine at home, but not at the office.

I have the same workgroup name at both places.

how does the account name enter into this formula?
My account name at the office is different than at home.

IE, does the same account name need to be on both computers in each
network??

If so, how can I use the guest account??

Do I have to logon to the guest account on the laptop before I can log
onto the office computer??

thanks

Ask you IT person at work.....no two office networks are
the same....

Unfortuneatly, I am it. THE network support is 700 miles away and, I
think, knows less than I do.

I think I am on the right track though. I created a new user at home
and it can't see my laptop.

So I guess I make the account at work the same name as my home account
and it should work.
