Networking installed on 2 XP home computers. Both computers receive an
ip-address through DHCP from ADSL router. So far so good. But, suddenly two
days ago without any warning 1 of the computers is not able anymore to
connect to the internet through the router. Router settings are not changed!
The affected computer does receive an ip-address and is able to ping or trace
routes to computers on the internet. When using internet explorer no
connection can be made. I now for sure that the settings of internet explorer
and all other settings are the same on both computers except for their
ip-addresses and hard coded lan network addresses. It looks if there's a
proxy been set "under water" and not detected or shown by Internet Explorer.
I think that this is the case since no warning messages are detected and no
change in internet settings has been made....
Has anybody an idea of what's going on here? All help is kindly appreciated.
Thanks,
Willem.
