networking home computers

We have two computers we want to network. We have them
hooked together with a Netgear Router. We ran all the
typical setups for networking. One computer has WIndows
XP and one has Windows ME. The computer with ME can read
the shared files on the XP. The computer with XP can't
read anything on the ME computer. Is there something we
aren't doing.

Hello,
just wondering if you have any firewalls?
try uninstalling them if you do.
Are they on the same workgroup?
check these first
