networking bridges

when I run the networking set up wizard on my laptop
about 3 quarters of the way through a bridge is
established and this breaks my internet connection which
means that the network I am trying to create is
brocken.How can I stop this from happenning and why does
it happen in the first place.Any help you can give.

To prevent the Wizard from creating the bridge, click "Let me choose
the connections to my network" when it says that "Your computer has
multiple connections." Click Next, put a check mark in the box for
the connection that you want it to use, and un-check all of the other
boxes.
