Network wizard won't load.

My network wizard won't load no matter what area of the computer I try to
access it.

I have 3 computers connected with a 4 port ADSL modem. (all separate
connection direct to modem). They all work fine connected to the internet.

But I want to also network them together so I can share a printer and some
files.

It's a bit impossible to do this when i can't even get the Networking wizard
Icon to even load up on the main computer. It shows a hourglass for about 2
seconds then nothing.

I have tried going to Control Panel - add/remove programs - windows
components - and tried reinstalling all the networking sections - but
still have the same problem.

Can anyone advise me on what to do???

thank you

You don't need the wizard - it's not too hard to do what it does, by hand.

But I'll suggest that inability to run the wizard is a symptom - not a problem -
and you may not achieve anything by trying to setup manually. So check your
network components and services first.

I don't know why the network wizard won't run, but you can set up
Windows XP for networking without using the wizard. In fact, the
default networking settings usually work without any changes. I'd
give it a try.

Configure any firewall program to allow access by other computers on
the local area network.
