network trouble

I have installed a new ethernet to my computer and it
keeps telling me that the cable is unplugged.
The cable from the computer to the laptop is all
connected correctly can anyone help thanks rob

What kind of cable do you use?
normal or Cross ?

Do you use a hub or router?

Hi Robert

I've had some trouble with the Autosensing of the connection type. Try going into the properties of the ethernet card and forcing it into the connection tyep required (e.g. 100mb Half-Duplex or something)

See how you go...
