Network Testing Software

Anyone aware of any network (LAN) testing software that can be used to
measure throughput, error rate and perhaps a stress test? Have a small 8
station network we're having a problem with - I think. Hence the need for
some testing to be done.

I've tried Qcheck from Ixia but it just runs short bursts on one link at a
time. Looking to have several end-points transmitting / receiving to test
the network and switches for errors.

Failing any freeware, I'm more than willing to pay for some good shareware
or reasonable cost commercial package. Been searching the net but all I
find is enterprise class (big $$$) software like Ixia's ixChariot package.
A bit of overkill but certainly nice from what I've read.

Any recommendations appreciated.

Thank you,

Bob S.

Download robocopy from M$ or ftp.sgrail.org and transfer 10Gb files around your
network, robocopy will let you know about any errors.
