Network sharing does not work

I have a desktop running Windows XP Home that is the "host" computer
connected to a router and then to a laptop running Windows 2000. Although
each of them access the internet I have not been able to get them to "see"
the other computer in order to share files back and forth. What do I need to
do?

Do a Google on "XP 2K networking" there are a thousand pages that describe
how to network these OS's, dont be lazy
and expect us to tell you what to look for, do some legwork first for
yourself.
