Network Setup Wizard

Martin

I am wanting to set up a home network in which my main
computer connects directly to the Internet through my
existing ISDN adapter, and then the other computers in
the house share that Internet connection, as well as
sharing the files and printer on this computer.

During the Network Setup Wizard, I am asked:
"You chose to turn on file and printer sharing while your
computer is connected directly to the Internet. This is
not recommended, because this configuration allows anyone
on the Internet to see your files and use your printer.
Are you sure you want to turn on file and printer
sharing?"

The options are Yes and No. What is going on here?
Sharing files with other users of the Internet?! I have
above-average computer knowledge, but this has baffled me
and I am reluctant to proceed.

Tell the Wizard "This computer connects directly to the Internet. The
other computers on my network connect to the Internet through this
computer." If it asks, disable file and printer sharing on the ISDN
adapter (to prevent other Internet users from seeing your files and
printers) and enable file and printer sharing on the local area
network connection that goes to the other computers.
