Network Properties Error

When I try to open the properties for my network connections A box stating an error has occured and the window needs to close comes up. Any thoughts on how to fix this so that I can access my network connection properties...

It sounds like there's something wrong with the Network Connection.
I'd remove the NIC in device manager, and re-boot.

Let XP re-install the network card, and re-create the Network Connection.

See if that helps.
Certainly shouldn't do any harm.
