Network problem

Trying to set up a wireless ad-hoc network between an XP
machine and a 2K machine. Both computers can ping the
other. All IP's are set as recommended. Client, File and
priner sharing, and TCP/IP are present on both systems.
However, the 2K machine is invisible. The XP machine can
see itself in the MSHOME workgroup. Neither computer can
see the 2K machine in the MSHOME workgroup. The 2K
computer cannot even see ITSELF in my network places.

Thanks in advance.

I agree. It doesn't answer the problem at all. Thanks
anyway though.

Anyone else out there know what could be the problem?

Just some wild guesses.

1. Make sure the machine name doesn't have underscores in it.

2. Doublecheck spelling of the workgroup names, the correctness of the IP
addressing and the Mask.

3. Make sure something is actually shared. If there is no shares, then there
is no reason for it to show up. Normally Win2k has hidden "admin" shares,
but it is still possible to not have those.
