Network path not found

I have a home network with a desktop and laptop. Until
yesterday, everything worked just fine. I tried to install
a docking station which did not function properly. I did
not have my instructions so I disconneted the docking
station and tried to go back to my original setup.
Unfortunuately, my network connections were messed up.

I can see both computers on my Microsoft Windows Network
screen. However, when I click on the computer I want to
access, it gives me "network path not found". Both
computers have shared drives and worked until yesterday.
The laptop is Windows 2000 and desktop is ME.

My internet connection works on both computers as I use a 4
port router.

I am at my wits end as to how to fix it. Any help would be
appreciated.

The answer turned out to be as simple as renaming the
network workgroup to another name on both computers.
