network logon: loading personal settings

When i try and log 2k onto my newly set up 2k3 server it takes absolutely
ages to "load personal settings".

Any ideas why its doing this/what i can do about it?

What network configuration are you in when experiencing
this?

If you're at a different location than your server, it
could be a result of Windows trying to pull over a large
user profile over a WAN link.
