Can't change domain

Hello All,
I have a win 2Kpro pc, a win 2K server domain AJ1, and a win 2K3 SBS domain
AJ2.
My win 2K pro pc can login in domain AJ1 win 2K server, but when I change
the login domain under "System Properties", "Network ID" I can't set it to
AJ2 domain, if I key it manually I get an error message saying it cant
locate the domain. I can ping "server.aj2.local", and my DNS is set up
correctlly. Any ideas why I can't change my workstation domain?
Thanks for any input.

Try moving it to a workgroup and from that workgroup move it to the new
domain.

What happens when? Can you move it out of the domain into a workgroup
without errors? If not what is the error?

If you can move it to a workgroup, does it give an error moving it from a
workgroup into the new domain? If so what is the error?

Need to know what you are doing, when the error occurs, and what the error
is.

Sorry for the lack of info.
I have a Win 2K server domain AJ1, and a win 2K3 SBS domain AJ2
My client is a Win 2K pro pc on domain AJ1, when I got to "System
Properties", "Network ID" to change the domain I get an error saying
:
"The following error occured validating the name "aj2.local"
This condition could be caused by a DNS lookup problem
The specified domain either does not exist, or could not be contacted."

This is my SBS server running Exchange, and I don't think I have a DNS
problem, but who knows.
I can ping this server by name aj02.aj2.local. No other DNS problems show up

I can move to a workgroup no problem.
When i try to go from work group to 2nd domain AJ2 I get that message.

Thanks

This is a DNS problem.

You may have to manually enter the DNS server of the aj2.local domain into
the properties of TCP/IP for DNS on this client once it is moved to a
workgroup.
