Network Login prompt missing

With my two XP Pro PC's in a home network setup (no domain) via a router I am able to access either computer (including shares) without any network login prompt when connecting to either computer (not secure!). I have different Windows passwords on both PC's. I used to have network login prompts on my workgroup and want them back

Tried: Disabling/Enabling simple file sharin
Adding another account to each computer (Limited
Enabling/Disabling Guest Accoun
Changing Windows password
Running NW Setup Wizard on both PC's agai

Connecting to a PC outside of my workgroup does bring up the network login prompt
ICF does hide the PC's when enabled

I want the Network Login prompt to appear again in my workgroup for security

Any suggestions

Update to my problem: When trying to network a Win2K Pro PC to the XP Pro's, I did get a network login password prompt for 1 of my XP PC's and vise versa. Why not the other XP PC?? Why Win2K to XP login prompts only, and not XP to XP???

Both XP Pc's are now in different workgroups
The Win2K PC is in the workgroup that didn't get the login prompt from one XP PC

The mystery deepens!

Any suggestions?

Attempt to login from another computer to a non-admin. account (preferably).
Hopefully it works for you too

I still don't understand why this had to be done, how it got messed up and why Win2K PC's always got the login prompt
There is obviously an issue with the guest account.

Try deleting the saved password by going to:

Start > Control Panel > Users Accounts > select your user >
Under the "Related Topic", select "Managed My Network Passwords" and
delete the password.

Hope that will help you.
