Network load balancing

Andy Welcomer

Hello,

I'm having problems setting up Network Load Balancing on 2 test machines
using W2K advanced server. When I configure TCP/IP both machines, they both
almost 100% loose network connectivity. If I were to ping them, they would
sometime time out 4 straights, or respond a couple of times. When they do
respond, the response time is extremely high. Also the virtual address
never responds. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Andy

How is NLB configured? 2 NICs in each host or one? Multicast or unicast?
What do they plug into? Switch? Router? Hub?

Could you post the output from wlbsdisplay from each?

The setup I'm trying to do mirrors a production configuration.
the production configuration is as follows
2 Compaq ML370 Servers with SP4.
Single NICS
Unicast
Both machines plugged into a switch.
This works great with no problems.

The lab machines (ones I'm working on)
IBM Pcs with SP4
Single NICS
Unicast
Plugged into a Hub.
Big differnces between the setups is the class of machine and what they plug
into.
