Hi,

Is your network connection still working even though the icons are missing?

I would suspect that you may be set to have them hidden. Right click the
taskbar and choose properties. Click the customize button on the first tab
and check the "past" items to see if it's here. You can move it into the
current icons.

You have to contact support as described in the article. The fix is free,
there is no charge for the support as long as you limit it to only a request
for the hotfix. It is not available to any and all that want to download it
as it is not fully regression tested and may cause other issues if it is not
appropriate for your system.

Added note:

1. Click Start, Run and type Services.msc. Make sure that the following
services are enabled and running

a. Telephony (set it to Manual)
b. Remote Access Connection Manager (set it to Manual)

2. If you have a NIC card installed, try removing the entry from Device
Manager and have Windows reinstall it automatically (Click "Scan for
hardware changes option" in the "Action" menu after uninstalling the NIC)
