Network Help

Kevin Hunter

I desperately need help, before I tear my hair out and my parents heads off
in frustration.

I want to share my BY broadband connection with the machine downstairs and I
have two NIC's installed on the host machine and one installed on the
client.

At present, I have it set up so that the cable modem connects to one of the
NIC's whilst the other is hooked upto the switch, and a cable running from
the switch to the client downstairs. The host is running 2000 and the
client XP. Not only can't I share the connection, neither maching can see
each other on the network.

Many thanks in advance

Kevin

Did you install and configure ICS on the win2000? Did you turn off any
firewalls including the default XP firewall? Did you share anything on
both computers? Are both computers in the same workgroup? Same subnet?
