wireless netowrk is unavailable and it cont find any when it looks

As well as the wired and wireless NIC, both crossed, ive got another
one labelled
"1394 Connection 2"
ipconfig /all reveals

details
Host name : roger ( the name of her laptop)
1ry DNS - (blank)
Node type : Hybrid
Ip routing : no
WINS :no

speed is 400 Mbps and gateway etc is blank

still there when the machine reboots
cant delete it ( option greyed out)
disabling it doesnt bring up the wireless card .

Your post is a bit disjointed and difficult to follow, but I gather that
you have two questions:

1. Your daughter's laptop had working wireless which is no longer
available.

2. What is the 1394 Connection.

For #1, since you say the dog pressed a few keys - most laptops have
either a switch, key, or FN-some-key combination to press to enable the
wireless connection. Refer to the laptop manual. If you don't have the
manual, go to the laptop mftr.'s tech support website. I expect the
"dog" turned off the wireless toggle.

For #2, the 1394 connection is for firewire and shows because the laptop
has a firewire connector. You can just ignore this since it has nothing
to do with your wireless connection.
