Network Error

Hi, im not sure what happened but thismorning my network
gave up and died.
I was on my laptop (Gateway) and I dont think i created
it but all of a sudden there was a Mac bridge created in
my network settings. I thourght nothing of it and deleted
it then soon after the net wouldnt work. I removed my
laptop as i had to goto work so I plugged the phoneline
into my desktop computer and shared the connection so the
other computer on the network could access the net.
The other computer couldnt access the net nor ping the
desktop computer. I changed the desktop computers IP to
192.168.0.1 and the client had its standard IP of
192.168.0.5. The weird thing is: I can ping the client
from the host and get a response but if i try ping the
host from the client i get no response. I can access the
net or anything. Ive tinkered with settings and run the
network wizard about 10000 times.
Thanks,
What im asking is either:
a) Have you got a solution to my problem, or
b) Can i totally delete my network connection and re-
create it?

Fixed the problem. After tinkering with netbios and
everything i booted both in safe mode to discover ping
was working.
Booted back in normal thinking i had fixed it but I hadnt.
As i slapped my face, i began to disable the firewall
setting in the fresh install of PcCillian *doh*
I had the firewall accept stuff from local ip's on my
network but recently changed my ip's as i changed the
gateway.
thanks
