I need suggestions on getting my home network up and running.
Specs: Main machine- running xp, one NIC for cable modem, a second NIC used
for the network.
Second and third machines, running WinMe, hooked to host via NIC cards and
10/100 cable

I have the C drive and "my documents" "shared" on all three plus the printer
on host shared. I know the network runs because all three have interent
access. But, as far as viewing the entire network, the machines cannot "see"
each other.

I have run the network wizards till I'm blue in the face.

What next?

I have two NIC cards. The one hooked to the cable modem has the firewall
activated but the one connected to the hub and thus to the other two
computers does not. I have Norton's internet security on each. Do you think
Norton's firewall is preventing us from seeing each other? I tried the
IPConfig /all but whatever it did or didn't do, it went by the screen so
fast I couldn't read it.

Yes, Norton Internet Security could be the problem. You need to
configure it to allow access by computers on the local area network.

To see the Ipconfig output:

1. Click Start | Run.
2. Type "cmd" in the box and click OK.
3. Type the Ipconfig command in the command prompt window.
4. Close the window by typing the "exit" command.
