network connection lost

Hi,

I my company network there is two server that sometime have networking
problem, connection to the server sometime stop completely, but after
we ping from the server to other servers or pc the connection is back.

One of the server is Fedora core and another is windows 2000, we have
try every thing change network card, cable and plug into different
switch but the problem still remail. There is other server on the
network and they dont seen to have the same problem.

Can someone give me some clue on what might be causing the problem?

the network is running 10 mbps becouse one HP nonstop server can only
run at 10 mbps, the server that are having problem is using gigabit
ethernet, is there any problem with running 10 base network on gigabit
adapter?
