Network assistance

I have no desire to connect to the internet via a network
connection, all I want to do is transfer files from one
computer to another. I have followed the network wizard
but can't see the host computer from the guest computer
and vice versa.

I have looked through postings and have gone to some of
the website they mentioned for assistance, but still no
luck.

Can someone provide me step-by-step directions on what I
need to do? I'm using XP home.
