Netware-like print queues for Windows 2000 server

Does anyone know if there is a way to use legacy programs
in the win2k server environment so that the program
sees "Netware-like" print queues, e.g. Word Perfect for
DOS in a Windows 2000 workstation environment? When you
choose WordPerfect network printers, the program expects
print queues, not share-name printers. Does anyone know
of a Microsoft or other company product which can do this?

You can use:

net use lpt1: \\PRINTSERVER\printshare

and then print to lpt1.

Does that not work?

That is a good solution, except that I have used up all
three lpt devices with netuse, lpt1, lpt2, and lpt3, for
another dos program that has the same problem. What is
netshare?

Sorry, I mean printshare.

I typed "PRINTSERVER" to mean: Use the name of your print server.

I typed "printshare" to mean: Use the name of a print share on that server.

HTH,

Bill
