I installed it under a user with Admin priviliges. Per the Netscape
FAQ, this can occur if the folder with the profiles for Netscape is set
to Read Only. I have checked all folders associated with Netscape and
they read only block is checked and grayed. I uncheck the block, but
when I go back in and look at the directories again, they are checked
and grayed out.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Any folder under \program files will have that appearance, because the
folder is automatically now considered a "system folder" and XP uses the
attributes in an odd way.

I've found that NS7.x runs better if installed outside the \program files
structure; even installing to \netscape seems to work much better
under XP, avoiding some issues of rights for restricted users.

As DE says, ignore READ ONLY on directories. For advice on NS subscribe to...
