I try to remove MSN Explorer but I found the following problem:

I went to Control Panel, Add or Remove, then I clicked Add/Remove Windows
Components and got the following message:

"Setup was unable to open information file netoc.inf.
"Contact your system administrator.
"The specific error code is 0x2 at line 0.

Please let me know if you can help me.

Thank you.

You can copy either from the back up which can be located here:
C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$\netoc.inf
C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB817778$\netoc.inf
C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\netoc.inf

C:\WINDOWS\inf\netoc.inf
right click on netoc.inf and select install then reboot your machine.

Or from the XP CD By expanding the directory on the CD and copy to the
systemroot :

- Insert your WinXP CD
- click on Start >> Run. then Type in the input box:
Expand D:\i386\NETOC.IN_ -r C:\Windows\Inf, Click [OK]

D:\ wehere your CD-ROM drive letter, you can substitute with your correct
drive letter.

Reboot your machine after copying the file and see if the issue resolved.

If not can you check this please and let us know:
open a run command and type in:

%SystemRoot%\Inf\Sysoc.inf
