netoc.inf is missing

Hello,
Somehow I am missing file called netoc.inf and thus I
can't go and access my add/remove windows component. I
want to install the IIS and if I go to install it I got
error called

setup was unable to open information file netoc.inf
Contact sys admin. The specific error code 0x2 at line
2086411188.

The application could not be initialized.

I try to resintall W2K SP4 and not luck. Please help me.

Have you searched your C drive for the file? I found the file located at
c:\winnt\servicepackfiles\i386 on my system. I would try searching your c
drive for the file if it finds multiples check the lastest date and replace
the older one (after making a backup of it first.) Otherwise you could
start a reinstall of SP4 that way it will extract all the files then do a
search again. I believe that it would be compressed though so you would
need to search for netoc.in_. If it finds it you could use the expand
function to uncompress it and copy it in.
