Hi Guys

Just wondering if it is possible to run MS Netmeeting under WinXP
Pro
When I try to install it , it says that it "will not work under this
version of windows"

I've tried installing through compatability mode but this does not
work either

Hi

Windows XP comes with Netmeeting pre-installed.

To start it, from Start/Run, type:

conf.exe

It's already installed and part of XP. You don't need to install it. Just
goto: start, run, type in conf, hit enter, poof netmeeting. Create a
shortcut if you want, it's here:
C:\Program Files\NetMeeting\conf.exe

ms netmeeting is already on your computer. Go to the programs file and look
for the netmeeting folder or do a search. Click on the executable in the
folder.

I've always found it odd that MS didn't just create a shortcut for
NetMeeting in WinXP. Strange.

I was (pick one, all, or none):

1. accidential ommission. (probably not).
2. removed to put higer focus on Messenger (probably)
3. removed to futher support "collaboration" functionality emerging in
Office where when user does it it just uses NetMeeting without being
overt. Goal of Microsoft for user to perceive their computer via the
Office interface/metaphore. (my bet).

Makes sense.
