Netgear PS121 doesn't allow Epson Print Monitor Ink Level

I've just bought a netgear PS121 and after installation found the Epson C84 Ink level monitor doesn't work. This is a bit of a problem as I don't know which (of the 4) ink cartridges needs replacing. The only way I know now is to unplug the PS121 and have a direct link from the PC via usb...the whole reason I got the unit in the first place.

Anyone know of a better way?

Glyn-

I don't know of a better way. I have the same problem with an Epson
multifunction scanner/copier/printer when trying to print over a wireless
network.

The printer is plugged into the wireless router, an Airport Express.
Printing works well, but the ink level monitor and the scanner function do
not work unless connected directly to the computer.

You can weigh them, a bit of a nuisance of course. But if you weigh a full one
and an empty one the difference will be the amount of ink that a full cartridge
holds.
You will need something that weighs to the nearest gram or equivalent.

hey,

all print servers be they cabled or wireless only allow simplex
transmission,
eg scanning will not work over wireless, nor will status monitor for epsons
full stop.
as far as i can remember for a C84, if you press the ink button the carridge
moves to
a position under a notch in the main housing that indicates which cartridge
is
empty, then again to move to the position to change the cart.

hope this helps
