NetBios Domain Name

Hi guys,

would like to know is there any way to change the NetBios
Domain Name after i have setup Active Directory?
I am using Win2k Pro for workstations and Win2k Server.
However, it is still referring to the NetBios Name for
domain name during login, is this normal?

Thanks

No, you can't change NetBios domain name in Windows 2000. What do you mean,
by referring to old NetBios domain name during logon ? NetBIOS is still
referred to when using old SAM notation domain\username + password. In
Windows 2000 AD you can use UPN notation for logon which is in form of
user@yourdnsdomainname + password where yourdnsdomainname is equal to your
DNS AD name. You can use Active Directory Trusts snap-in to change UPN
suffixes if you like.
