Domain name

Hi Everyone, I have recently setup a Win2k domain structure using AD using a FQDN at the root of the forest. For this example I will use microsoft.co.uk.

Now my problem is this... when I join Windows XP workstations to the domain, the login screen displays the NetBIOS name for the logon domain (microsoft) and not the FQDN (microsoft.co.uk). Everywhere else in the AD it is displayed using the full name. Why is this?

If it helps, I am running the domain in native mode.

Many thanks,

As Microsoft themselves might say, this behaviour is by design. It's nothing
to worry about and is perfectly normal.
