NETBIOS BROWSING

Hi,

Some external clients in our company are using our IP network to connect to
the Internet. These clients computers are not on our domain. These clients
VPN to their remote server and get access to their network remotely. By
doing this we can actually see their list of network computers from our
network neighbourhood. Is their any way to stop NETBIOS browsing apart from
stopping WINS service on WINS server?

I believe the browser services on their PCs will be working together to form a little workgroup of their own (I'm presuming they're all in a specific domain or workgroup from where they are from?), which will then get announced to the network and picked up by the Master browsers and WINS server(s) in your network. This is by design, the service is just trying to be helpful.. ;-

I'd try stopping the browser services on all of the computers which are part of the workgroup or domains you DON'T want to see in Network NeighboUrhood
