Hi

If you have the XP CD then NetBEUI is on there, have a look here

I am attempting to install the NetBUEI protocol onto a Virtual Private
Network Connection on an XP Pro machine. I have very carefully
followed the instructions for copying Nbf.sys and Netnbf.inf from my
Dell install disk into my Drivers and Info folders, but NetBUEI does
not appear in the Select Network Protocol list. I have rebooted the
machine, I am current with service packs and critical windows updates.
Any suggestions?
thanks,
Sean Bonney

NetBEUI is unsupported on XP.
The workaround here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;301041
only applies to LAN connections.

<quote>:
NOTE: After following the steps above you should be able to
use NetBEUI on Lan connections, however you will not be able
to use NetBEUI on a Remote Access Service (RAS) connection.
RAS connections cannot use NetBeui.

You need to set up the server end to suppoet TCP/IP.

Probably not what you wanted to hear....

Thanks for the quick response. Is VPN a RAS connection? If so, it
sounds like XP doesn't support NetBUEI for VPN, although Windows 2000
does. The particular VPN server is going to be upgraded, but I still
may need NetBUEI for my LAN.
thanks,
Sean Bonney
