.NET Framework

A couple of months ago I re-installed Windows XP
Professional on my computer, and on one of the menus it
asked me if I wanted my computer to connect to the .NET
Framework every time that my computer started up and
detected an internet connection. Without realizing what
I had choosen, my computer now connects to the .Net
Framework all of the time and I would like to turn it off
without having to re-install Windows XP all over again.

Greetings Jason,

Just a little clarification, I think you're referring to the .NET Messenger network, not the
..NET Framework -- the .NET Framework isn't something you can specifically "connect to", it's
a "framework" in which other applications run on.

Anyway, to stop this from happening, click the Start Button, then click the Control Panel.
Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your account name, and then on the
left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network Passwords'. In the
window that opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and click 'Remove'.
