Hello,\n\nI have a development machine (Windows XP SP2, all security updates/fixes,\n20GB C partition, 60GB D partition) with Visual Studio 2003 and 2005\ninstalled (I do dev work in both). I already have SP1 for .NET 1.1 and\nVS2003 installed, but I want to install the latest SP1 release for Visual\nStudio 2005, but it requires 6+GB of space on the C: drive. The problem is\nthat I only have about 4GB available on my C partition, so I am trying to\nclean up.\n\nOn my development machine , I have two items listed in my Add/Remove\nprograms list:\n\nMicrosoft .NET Framework 1.1\nand\nMicrosoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB886903)\n\nEach of these take up about 1 GB each.\n\nIt sounds odd that in order to run the 1.1. framework (with sp1), I need\n2+GB of storage.\n\nCan I remove one of these components to free up some space WITHOUT affecting\nthe installation of 1.1 SP1?\n\nAny other ideas for making some room (I have done all the standard stuff\nlike cleanmgr, etc.)??? I also have SQL Server 2005 installed, but all the\ndata files are on my D partition, not the default C drive.\n\nTIA!!!
