Nero 7.8.5.0 NOT compatible with Vista: dll errors remov. compone

Nero 7.8.5.0 (although is fully certified for Windows Vista) has serious
incompatibilities with Windows Vista when you try to remove components.

Reproductions steps:
1. login with a Standard user
2. open the Control panel and try to change the Nero installation
3. put the administrator password
4. from the Nero components try to remove a component (for example: nero
burning rights)
....and you'll get a lot of dll and components errors due permissions.

So, the latest Nero 7.8.5.0 is still incompatible with Windows Vista!!!! I
wonder how it got the Vista certification...

I've burned DVD's and CD's with Nero in Vista and had no problems. I
don't think that Nero Burning rights can be uninstalled though. Don't
be so quick to blame Nero for this it might be a Vista issue.

yes, nero works fine, but nero installer/uninstaller is bugged.

I've uninstalled nero burning right, but during uninstallation the nero
installed agains some other components because the installaion is like
refresh, but it reregistered some components but it failed due wrong elevation

I've uninstalled Nero Burning Rights successfully, but during uninstall
process the Nero installed some other components agains like it refreshed the
installation, bug it re-registered some dll and components again, but during
re-registration it failed many times with deny access errors dialog boxes, so
nero uninstaller is bugged because it forgets the elevation and so nero it's
not fully compatible with Vista

Hi BillD

yup, I think you are right
I tried to uninstall some Nero components on my Vista machine
although install works fine, I think the uninstall/reconfigure stuff must
not be elevating the permissions like it needs to

hopefully this will get fixed in the next version...

other than that, installing and using Nero 7.5.8.0 works without any
yet-noticed hitches...
