Is there any free software that would print negatives into photographs?
I at the moment do not want to purchase a scanner having this facility.
Please suggest.
Thanks in advance.

The first step is trying to aquire a good scan...
the followng articles may be useful for that:

What about film scanners?

Once you have the scans....most image
editing software has a Negative option
that will reverse the image. For example...
in IrfanView you would open the image
and go to...Image / Negative.

Download IrfanView

(get the plug-ins too)

And, in FastStone Image Viewer you would
select the image and go to...Edit / Negative.

Thanks for the guidance. I scanned a colored strip. After that tried
Irfanview and FastStone, but did not succeeded and the print out was
just a haze.

Color negatives have an orange "mask" and require a special "demasking"
operation to recover the original colors.
