Neewsgroups: Mark All As Read extremely slow

If I try "Mark All As Read" for a newsgroup it takes FOREVER to finish.
However if I Ctrl-A and Mark As Read it is very quick like XP's Outlook
Express. Is there someway I can speed this up?

Ctrl-A, Ctrl-Q is the fastest way to do that. There is also another
shortcut: Ctrl-Shift-A.
