need two local area connections

Is it possible to have two local area connections, one
using dhcp and the other using static IP address? With
both bound to the single RJ45 ethernet connector on my
laptop. With only one of the connections enabled at home
and at work I could use my laptop in either place without
redefining my Ip address setup in each place.

Any thoughts on this problem?

Hello
Yep
Go to Network Connections disable the one and the click Create a new
Connection when that is done configure it as you wish then you can switch to
which ever one desired by disabling one and enabling the other.
