need to send e-mail to some 4000 addresses at a time

Hi,
I am using Outlook 2003.
I have a word file with about 4000 email addresses, seperated by ';'
I am trying to send email to all those addresses by copying and pasting them
in Bcc. But the message stays in the outbox only.
I have a 20MB mailbox. I am not sure the problem is with my mailbox size or
some other.
Please give me the procedure of doing this.
Thanks.
Kiran Mandava.

Hi Kiran,

most mail servers have a limitation for the number of recipients of the
single email message (usually 100-300). When Microsoft Outlook is trying to
send a message, mail server answers that it have a limitation and don't
accept the message. You can turn on mail logging to verify it.

As the alternative, you can try our Send Personally add-in for Microsoft
Oulook, it'll help you to avoid your ISP limitation:

Thanks Alex for the reply.

Tried send_personally trial version and it seems useful. But couldnt find
much help/documentation.
Can you please tell me whether I can send mail to 4000+ addresses using it
without bothering about limitations of my mail-server? Also should I paste
all the addresses in To: field or the Bcc: field ?
Appreciate your help.

For that many addresses, you would be best served by using a mail merge that
would send individual messages. I am quite sure your ISP would not allow
4000 emails sent at one time.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.
